the "other" secret project

Photo of the day is meant to shift my demographic. The secret project from a couple of days ago shall remain a secret - or it wouldn't be a secret now would it? However, because of Neils comment that day about the webcam...I decided it was long past time I checked that one off my list. I ended up spending the entire day just working out all the technical glitches in trying to set it up. Just as well because it was drizzly and gloomy outside all day. It will be awhile before I get all the kinks worked out but tomorrow it will be up and live for a test run during the afternoon-keep your fingers crossed. http://www.thefieldlab.org/webcam.html 68,78,67,.07

Yay for the cam

Cool on the live cam. It is kind of surreal thinking of you out in the solitude with so few souls around and all of us watching you. John in a goldfish bowl... maybe just point it out towards the hills, or better yet, it could be a benita-cam and you just pass by in the background every now and again. hmmm...

Great! on the cam, but it will only be a few days now before I head that way. I'll be down there probably around 1:00 or so on the 8th in a mostly empty 22 foot moving van. Need anything delivered from Odessa?

Next best thing to being there!!!

If I send you a robot webcam, will you install it?

We could then do 'remote presence' tours. Hell, strap on the pistol and we could take over the snake patrol duties!!!

WAY cool John. I thought about offering you my fanch remote controllable one from here, but alas, it requires 110 VAC and a real desktop computer to install two controller boards.

Well shoot, how comes John's webcam don't work on my pc? All I get is a "no image" screen.

Nice. I like this project. Watching Benita now. The feed is very good, no pauses or hesitations. They really gave you good internet out there at The Field Lab.

Of course the first thing I did was check to see if I can get stickam on my iPhone. And son of a gun, there's an app for that.

This is great John, works great, picture is clear. However, if Benita keeps stealing camera time you might want to change the name to "Benita Live".

Love the webcam. Looks great from here (Michigan). No glitches, no hesitation and clear.
